Welcome to Elsemorn, an evolving fantasy campaign setting by Wyatt Edwards.
The world of Elsemorn is home to dwarves, elves, goblins, and other fantastic creatures. There are peasants and nobles, heroes and thieves. Yet all is not as it was. Bards sing of glorious empires and spells beyond belief, but that world has diminished. The people now build fences from the ruins of great cities. Fanatics hunt witches and wizards and burn libraries to ash. Squabbling lords threaten war, perhaps next year or perhaps tomorrow.
Elsemorn is a high fantasy setting, but one where the most powerful lands view magic and knowledge as a threat. Genre tropes like flying ships and arcane machines once existed, and may still exist in dungeons and lost tomes. Adventurers are encouraged to explore the world, fight its monsters, and relax at its many inns—and maybe save Elsemorn itself.
If you're a player in my Dungeons & Dragons campaign, I suggest reading the Player's Guide to Elsemorn, Campaigns in Elsemorn, House Rules, and Social Contract. These pages will set expectations for gameplay and help you make informed decisions about your character. During character creation, the pages on Cultures and Peoples, Languages, Religions, Glossary, and Converting to Elsemorn may be helpful. Depending on your background, you may want to read about Characters and Families, Organizations, and Natural Resources as well. And of course, The World and its subpages will help you determine where your character is from or has been. After that, it's entirely up to you! You're welcome to read as much as you want about the setting or learn during the game.
