Everwell is the most common name for a pantheon of gods and goddesses, and for the quasi-religion based on this pantheon. It is known for having no universally-recognized authorities, no canonical texts or dogma, and no agreed-upon list of beings—although efforts are being made to settle these issues. Religious scholars often describe Everwell as a variety of animist and regional belief systems in the midst of becoming an organized minor religion.
Many of the gods and goddesses of Everwell have been worshipped since antiquity, but new gods are added frequently. There are now hundreds or perhaps thousands of major and minor beings.
Everwell functions as both polytheism and henotheism. Some followers worship all or most of the gods and goddesses, though not necessarily at once or with the same fervor. Other followers worship only one being. Still others are in the middle, worshipping a small number of like-minded or complementary gods and goddesses.
The spiral is a symbol for Everwell
The name "Everwell" refers to the wells or springs where believers gather for worship. The spiral (🌀) is a common symbol for the entirety of Everwell, although other symbols exist for individual gods and goddesses. Similarly, there are a seemingly endless number of holidays and forms of ritual or worship.
Everwell is open to characters of any alignment, although individual gods or goddesses may be more restrictive. Work with your Dungeon Master to determine appropriate alignments, symbols, and so on. Everwell is a broad pantheon and there is an appropriate god or goddess for every class and subclass.
