Yearsal is a pantheon of gods and goddesses discovered within the last century. While still relatively young, Yearsal is developing a core body of canonical texts and rituals. Many religious scholars see the pantheon as an emerging minor religion, although it is not well understood.
The flower is a symbol for Yearsal
A flower (⚘) has emerged as the prevailing symbol of the Yearsal devotees, although the specific flower can vary. The starkeep and tinnersbell seem to be the most common. Other traditions tend to vary by god or goddess and also by region or location.
Yearsal is open to characters of any alignment, although individual gods or goddesses may be more restrictive. Work with your Dungeon Master to determine appropriate alignments, symbols, and so on. Yearsal is a broad pantheon and there is an appropriate god or goddess for every class and subclass.
The physical Yearsal list exists as a series of golden plates with the names of gods and goddesses finely hammered into them. The names were encoded with a simple substitution cipher and the plates were hidden within a temple wall in Kisra. When discovered, researchers initially believed the list recorded the bodies interred in the temple's graveyard. A scholar or laborer named Yearsal—it is unclear which—suggested that the unusual writing could be a code, leading to its eventual decryption.
The list includes gods and goddesses from other pantheons, including Hallasar and Sedeyr, although most of them are considered new beings. There has been much debate as to the legitimacy of the Yearsal list, with many religious scholars considering it a fraud. Nevertheless, the pantheon is increasingly seen as a new minor religion.
